Founded in 1909, the NAACP is the nation’s oldest and largest civil rights organization. From the classroom to the ballot box, thousands of dedicated works, organiers, leaders and members of the NAACP continue to fight for social justice for all.

The NAACP advocates for smarter, results-based criminal justice policies to keep our communities safe, including treatment for addiction and mental heallth problems, judicial discretion in sentencing, and an end to racial disparities.

The NAACP is committed to eliminating racial and ethnic barriers and raising awareness of political, educational, social and economic equality for minority groups.
